Hey, I'm Beth—an artist based in North West Leicestershire. I use photography to capture small often unnoticed details with my aim being to provoke the curious nature in us all.
Although photography may be my chosen medium, I don't exactly conform to the mainstream methods of displaying my prints. I'm passionate about changing people's perceptions of what photography can be. From creating large photographic installations to small transparent polaroids, I'm always finding new ways to showcase my artwork.

I was accepted onto the Spaces2Create program at the Creative Melbourne Gallery in Derbyshire, where mentorship and support played a pivotal role in shaping my early career (the programme started Oct 2023). I have since been featured in multiple group exhibitions across the country and have now completed my first photographic installation entitled 'Fleeting'.

FLEETING
a photographic installation
'Fleeting’ takes inspiration from the Japanese cherry blossom, Sakura.
The sakura's meaning is contradictory, it symbolizes both life and death, beauty and violence. As the coming of spring promises new life, the blooming of cherry blossoms brings a sense of vitality and vibrancy. At the same time, their short lifespan is a reminder that life is fleeting.
Many of the photos within this collection take on a similar contradictory approach. They can be interpreted in many ways and represent both positive and negative feelings, thoughts or emotions. I wanted to create a flowing, almost weightless feel to this piece, so each transparent photograph is attached to a hand-moulded acrylic base, allowing me to create the feeling of movement whilst maintaining their transparency.
